Artist Statement
"I am an interdisciplinary artist and dedicated member of the Sacramento art community. I’ve enjoying a journey that has taken me from collage, watercolor, pastels, acrylics and back to collage again. For the past ten years I’ve worked primarily with encaustic and mixed media. My contemporary work is about the narratives of life, the beautiful fault lines and flaws that make up everything.
My art begins with inspiration found in stories, dreams, text and music and ends up somewhere between the surreal and abstraction. Viewers may recognize topics of faith, elements of home, the human condition and, at times, a little foolishness.
I am a full time working artist who stays out of trouble by curating local shows, demonstrating and leads encaustic workshops in our area. I am a founding member of Rancho Cordova Arts Council and current board member with Sierra Wax Artists."
